Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making West Sound Comfort Systems's website usable by everyone. Last updated August 2026.

The short version. West Sound Comfort Systems is committed to making our website usable by everyone. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA and continuously test and improve. If you hit an accessibility barrier, call us at (360) 564-1187 or email sales@westsoundcomfort.com and we will help — and fix the barrier.

1. Our commitment

West Sound Comfort Systems is committed to ensuring that its website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe every homeowner in Kitsap County and the Olympic Peninsula should be able to research, quote, schedule, and communicate about their home comfort in a way that works for them.

2. Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the same technical benchmark used by the U.S. Department of Justice as guidance for compliance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for public-accommodation websites.

3. Measures we take

To meet that target, we have implemented and continue to invest in:

  • Semantic HTML — pages use proper landmarks, headings, lists, and form elements so that screen readers can navigate them.
  • Descriptive alternative text — meaningful images have alt text; decorative images are marked as such.
  • Keyboard operability — all interactive elements (menus, forms, cookie-consent banner, tool wizards) can be operated with a keyboard alone.
  • Visible focus indicators — every focusable element shows a clear focus outline.
  • Color contrast at AA — text and interactive elements meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and non-text UI).
  • Reduced-motion respect — animated elements honor the operating-systemprefers-reduced-motion preference.
  • Accessible forms — every form field has a visible label, error messages are associated with their inputs, and required fields are announced to assistive technology.
  • Descriptive links & buttons — links are worded so their purpose is clear out of context.
  • Responsive layout — the site is usable at 200% zoom and on small screens, without loss of content or function.
  • Regular testing — we test with automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen-reader spot checks (VoiceOver, NVDA), and we welcome real-user feedback.

4. Third-party content and known limitations

Portions of our site rely on content or widgets provided by third parties — including financing applications, embedded maps, review widgets, and any chat or scheduling widget we may add. While we choose accessible vendors when we can and continue to work with our providers to remediate gaps, we cannot guarantee that every third-party embed meets WCAG 2.2 AA at all times. If a third-party element is blocking you from completing a task, contact us using the details in §5 and we will provide an accessible alternative (for example, taking your information by phone or email).

Similarly, some older blog posts or documents may not yet meet our current standards. We prioritize remediation as we identify issues.

5. Report an accessibility barrier

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, please tell us. We will respond within a reasonable time (our target is 5 business days) and work to remediate the issue or provide the information or service through an accessible alternative.

  • Phone: (360) 564-1187
  • Email: sales@westsoundcomfort.com
  • Mail: West Sound Comfort Systems, Attn: Accessibility, 9619 Provost Rd NW, Silverdale, WA 98383

Please include:

  • The page URL where you encountered the issue.
  • A brief description of the barrier.
  • The assistive technology or browser you were using, if known.
  • How we can reach you with a response.

6. Ongoing effort & review

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review this statement and audit the site at least annually, and we incorporate accessibility into our design and development process for every new page and feature. This statement was last reviewed in August 2026.

7. Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice under Title III of the ADA at ada.gov/file-a-complaint, or with the Washington State Human Rights Commission at hum.wa.gov. We would rather resolve the issue with you directly first — please give us a chance to help.
